What is the role of the French Interministerial Commission?
02/27/2019Interview with Guillaume Fornasier – Chairman of the French Interministerial Commission on Natural Disasters. Since the creation of the French natural disaster compensation scheme by the law of July 13, 1982, natural disaster compensation has always been provided in compliance with the scheme's guidelines which require the official publication of a decree recognizing a natural disaster. Prior to publication, an interministerial commission must provide a favorable or unfavorable opinion on the request received from the police prefecture, the ministry then provides or does not provide recognition. We met with the Chairman of this commission.
