As an essential link in the State's risk management, CCR has been equipped for many years now, in order to fulfil its mission, with a modelling chain that allows the intersection of a hazard, whether natural or man-made, with economic stakes, to be translated into a financial impact.

This platform is essential for the efficiency of compensation or risk prevention systems and to support the State in its reflections on the management of extreme risks. It has been developed and enriched over the years thanks to scientific partnerships with leading players in France, including research centres, universities and grandes écoles.

Thanks to these partnerships and feedback from events, CCR's research and development teams contribute to the continuous improvement of the models and to strengthening their relevance.

This report was validated by the Chief Executive Officer, reviewed by the Audit, Accounts & Risks Committee and subsequently approved by the Board of Directors of CCR before being submitted to the ACPR.

06/12/2024 CCR publie la 9ème édition de son bilan annuel des catastrophes naturelles en France. Grâce au régime d'indemnisation des catastrophes naturelles, basé sur la solidarité, la grande majorité des Français bénéficie d'une couverture contre les catastrophes naturelles à un coût abordable. Bien que ce régime ait prouvé son efficacité, il est aujourd'hui confronté aux défis posés par le changement climatique et doit évoluer pour rester efficace. En ce qui concerne la sinistralité, l’année 2023 a été marquée par plusieurs événements significatifs, et pour la 7ème fois en 8 ans, CCR a dû puiser dans ses réserves. Ce bilan présente un état des lieux des récentes évolutions réglementaires, des défis futurs, et dresse également un bilan détaillé de l'année 2023 en matière de sinistralité.

The company served the public interest by informing the government about the shrinkage and swelling of clay soils, the insurability of climate risks and the insurability of local authorities.
