The 5th CCR "Nat Cat Day" will be held on Friday, June 13, 2014 in Paris.

06/11/2014

Over the past five years, this event has become an important annual meeting for insurance companies and scientific organizations who come together to exchange views on topical issues concerning insurance cover of catastrophic risks and work undertaken to better understand and measure their consequences.

By organizing these annual meetings, CCR seeks to further risk prevention and culture by presenting and sharing pertinent information.

The theme of the 5th annual meeting is "Large-scale events: how to prepare for worst-case scenarios".
In an environment of global warming and mounting economic and insurance costs for natural disasters such as the heavy flooding throughout Europe that marked 2013, experts from all walks of life will present the conclusions of the work they have undertaken to enhance our knowledge of natural perils and reduce vulnerability in areas exposed to such risks.

Over-exposed territories, exceptional events affecting large metropolitan areas, catastrophic chain events... are some of the issues that will be addressed over the course of the meeting.

CCR, which plays a central role in these discussions through its reinsurance activities, will also present its modeling work.
