CCR is once again a partner to the National Conference on Natural Hazards (Assises Nationales des Risques Naturels) in 2016.

This event organized by the Ministry of the Environment, Energy, and the Sea will bring together professionals from the natural risk prevention sector in Marseilles on March 22 and 23. The central topic of this year's conference is the reduction of the consequences of natural disasters.

On this occasion, CCR will present the new version of its E-risk website dedicated to providing natural disaster information to the general public. The range of information provided by the website was broadened to include major events that have affected mainland France and its overseas territories since 1989.

CCR will also present the results of the study it conducted jointly with Météo France assessing the financial impact of climate change on the French compensation scheme for Natural Disasters. The company will show the documentary film “Get ready: adapting to cope with natural disasters” that it co-produced with News Assurances Pro for the recent COP 21.

It should be noted that the French Insurance Association (Association Française de l’Assurance) and the National Observatory for Natural Hazards (Observatoire National des Risques Naturels) will also be present at the conference. The former will present its white paper “For improved prevention and protection against natural perils”, the latter will organize a conference on knowledge dissemination in the aim of fostering the development of a regional network of observatories.

CCR is a public-sector reinsurer serving the general interest by providing insurers operating in France with coverage against natural catastrophes and other uninsurable risks.
CCR is also a full-service reinsurer operating on international markets in the life, non-life and specialty lines of business. The company also manages Public Funds to the benefit of the State such as the National Guaranty Fund for Agricultural Disasters (Fonds National de Garantie des Risques en Agriculture - FNGRA) and the Major Natural Risk Prevention Fund (Fonds de Prévention des Risques Naturels Majeurs - FPRNM)
In the framework of its public-sector reinsurance activity, CCR plays a key role with respect to the French compensation scheme for damages caused by natural disasters. The company's expertise in this area enables it to develop a deeper understanding of the exposure to weather risks of its insureds. CCR also acts to reduce the vulnerability of its insureds by helping to improve prevention and territorial planning measures for territories highly exposed to such risks.
