Laure Tourjansky, Head of Natural and Water-Based Risks, Directorate General for Risk Prevention, French Ministry of Ecological and Solidarity Transition

Ms. Laure Tourjansky studied Humanities at Ecole Normale Supérieure in Fontenay Saint-Cloud, one of France's most prestigious research universities.

From 1987 to 1988, she obtained a Masters in geographical data analysis, an undergraduates degree in history and then a degree in economic and social sciences in 1989.

In 1994, she acquired a doctorate in economic sciences from the Institute of Political Studies in Paris, then in 2003, she completed training in Rural Engineering of Forests and Water Systems by way of special application.

She began her professional career in 1995 as Task Officer at the Forecast Directorate of the bureau of sectoral studies, energy transportation equipment within the Ministry of the Economy and of Finance.

In 1998, she became Rapporteur to the Competition Council until 2000 when she moved into the position of Bureau Chief "local resources and services" at the Department of economic studies and environmental assessment within the French Ministry for Sustainable Development.

She took up the position of Bureau Chief "infrastructure, transportation and planning" at the Department of economic studies and environmental assessment within the French Ministry for Sustainable Development in 2003.

Subsequently in 2007, she became the head of the waste management policy department at the Directorate General for Risk Prevention within the Ministry for Sustainable Development until 2010 when she became Adjutant Director of the Regional and Interdepartmental Directorate for the Environment and Energy for Ile-de-France.

Four years later, she became Adjutant Director of the Directorate for Sea, Fisheries and Aquaculture, Ministry for Sustainable Development, then in 2016 she took up the position of Head of the Natural and Water-Related Risks Department, Directorate General for Risk Prevention, Ministry for Sustainable Development.

Laure Tourjansky is also a recipient of the Chevalier dans l’ordre du mérite and the Chevalier dans l’ordre de la légion d’honneur.
